Assistance with your Cover Oregon Application:
Dear Insurance Shopper,
Getting help with your Cover Oregon application for health insurance shouldn’t be a hassle, but unfortunately it has been for many people. Cover Oregon’s rollout has been difficult but I have been able to guide my clients through the process with relative ease. I was actually one of very few Cover Oregon Certified Agents who told my clients NOT to do a paper application unless their health issues made doing so absolutely necessary, and even then I held on to those applications since I knew that the electronic broker application would likely be online before the deadline to submit the paper applications. My prediction was correct and those paper applications were copied into electronic form and processed with far fewer issues than most of my colleagues experienced.
How did I know to do this? My partners at GMAC Insurance told me. They’re usually ahead of the curve and they get that info to me while it’s still fresh.
Portland Benefits Group clients have had a significantly easier time shopping and submitting applications due to our holistic knowledge of the ACA, our understanding of Cover Oregon’s funtionality and processes and our knowledge of the health plans and insurance companies available.
Call us today and we will assist you with your application, go over the best plans in your area with you, and help you to understand your options under the new law and what your long term strategy should be to minimize your healthcare costs while maximizing your return. Let us be your Cover Oregon Agency and we’ll make your health insurance shopping simple and understandable.
Sincerely,
David Taxer

As a Cover Oregon Agent I can explain how the ACA works and let you know if tax credits and reduced premiums are available as well as what Health Insurance will cost both from the health exchange and on the private market. Buying off-exchange means you won’t get cost assistance, however you will have better networks and more qualified health plan varieties to choose from.
Cover Oregon Application Assistance
Individuals who intend to file an application with Cover Oregon for medical health insurance should be aware that the application requires accurate assessments of their income to qualify for your tax credit, which is estimated and portioned out so that your monthly premium for your families health insurance is partially paid for each month. An agent can advise you on the size of your tax credit as well as what strategies should be taken to get the best results. Since the tax credit is advanced to you, if you underestimate your income then the IRS may want some of their money back, so I generally recommend overestimating your income at least a little bit. By how much tends to be a case-by-case basis as everyone has a diferent situation.
Applications can be submitted over the telephone, by mail, or eventually online by consumers at coveroregon.com. A patchwork online application has been released by the State. Instructions and the links are below. For assistance contact David Nelson at PBG. If you do intend to attempt an online application by yourself, here are the instructions from Cover Oregon’s webpage.
